Poster Link is Live (Again!)
I found out too late today that the link to the poster is broken on Etsy (yikes!), so I re-listed it in all its glory–this time with shipping options for the United Kingdom, Australia & New Zealand. Thanks for letting me know!
At one point in the poster production, I asked Nick if he would mind adjusting the colors one more time before we sent it to print. Looking at me in disbelief since this was only our twentieth tweak to color, he asked me if I could possibly be serious. “I know, I know.” I said. “I KNOW it’s mental illness at this point, but humor me.” He shook his head, laughing; I went into the kitchen to rummage around for some good rum to pour in his drink, returning seconds later.
“That’s PERFECT.” I told him. “Don’t do another thing.”
“Jen. I haven’t touched it.”
At that very moment, I realized the poster was indeed finished.
How do you know when it’s time to let go??

Very cheerful - the sort of thing I could do with seeing first thing in the morning - there again perhaps it will give me the energy to get through the evening instead?
Cheers

that is hysterical. I’m so doing that next time someone asks me to “tweak” a design for the 100th time.
ps. Your cel phone goes straight to VM and it is full.

Love it, Jen. Is it just me though, or is the Etsy link still busted?

[…] Things were strained between us after that. It seemed to get better after I put up Jen Lemen’s poster on my bulletin board. The hardest part was knowing how to deal with her listening in on my calls and popping her head up over the partition to make a scary face and mouth, “NEVER tell a client that!!!” Somehow it stopped bothering me. I think the ego-diminishing work had a lot to do with it, but mostly I was buoyed up by the energy and attitudes of everyone else, from my manager to my trainer to the other claims examiners. I was the new kid on the block who didn’t yet know the ropes, yes, but somehow I sensed that I wasn’t the one who was out of step. […]
